Chapter 4 [2019-2020]

“The Visage Unbiased”

After a heavy schedule of recording, touring Nationally and Internationally, and detailed scrutiny of the new album, the band finally established a release date for the sophomore “The Visage Unbiased”.

This new album departs stylistically from “Loneliness”, Svet Kant’s debut album.  The songs are more experimental in terms of harmony and melody, yet more conservative in form and length.  Incorporating down-tuned 7-string guitars, alternating dissonances, intricate drumming and a wide variety of vocal styles, this new record hopes to bring a fresh sound onto an ever-changing and evolving genre.

The album was written and produced by Santiago Kodela and Svet Kant.  Tracking and mixing were done at TrackMix Recording Studios by the hand of Ireland’s top metal producer Michael Richards.  Mastering was completed at Sterling Sound by legendary Grammy-winner engineering wizard Ted Jensen.  And vocal coaching was supervised by International coach Judith Mokk.

Having inked a worldwide distribution deal with International metal-label WormHoleDeath (Italy), “The Visage Unbiased” hit all major digital platforms plus European, American, Scandinavian and Japanese markets May 31, 2019.

Such year was dedicated to promoting, touring, and presenting the new album to both old and new audiences.  The band’s ever-increasing fan-base kept expanding steadily across both the digital media and live presentations domains.

New Material

Independent of the release of the new album, the band kept writing and drafting new songs.  The need to develop a unique sound and a distinctive musical profile prevents the band from standing still.  These drafts encompass different styles and genres, going from soft and mellow jazz to blasting prog-death and everything in-between.  If time and touring allow, the band meant to hit the studio in August 2019 to record a new single in early 2020.

Yet, the advent of the pandemic imposed severe restrictions and challenges to both the band and the entire music industry.  All scheduled gigs had to be either cancelled or postponed.  With the death of the live music industry during 2020, Svet Kant committed its time and energies to write and pre-produce new music.
